How To Sleep Early

I try to make a early bed time for myself, in order to get a good health and fit mind. After ultimately failed several times, I am now making a list to go over step by step.

1. Be aware of that thought in the daytime

You should know exactly in the daytime what you eventually gonna do in the evening, that is go to sleep early, at least early than last night. Don’t take it for granted, if staying late is your enemy, you should know it fairly well before going for combats. You know it, you set bed time clearly, you plan for it, you stick to it, then you have the chance to stand up to second phrase.

2. Drain Yourself Before Going to Bed

One reason you can’t get yourself to sleep is you still keep some active energy, whatever they are. Now assumed you have a job, work your ass out by day, assumed you have a dream, study you ass out by evening before bedtime. Expend your both physical and mental energy, by exercising for at least 30 minutes and studying knowledge for almost 2 hours every day.

3. Don’t Nap at Noon

Once you sleep way early, you regain energy a little bit overly. Don’t nap, instead try having meditation for like 15 minutes, close your eyes, put on headphones with light music, avoid disturbing as much as you can, lose the connections between you and reality and become insusceptible. Cleanse your mind, focus on something like breath or just totally be vacuous.

4. Habit is the Power

Once you start, carry on. After a month of trying, you get yourself a great habit. A habit is a powerful thing that you do it spontaneously, without doubt. And try to earn more habits around this sleeping habit, to boost it and maintain it more easily.

5. Things You Shouldn’t Do in the Evening

  • Eat too much, especially one hour near to fall asleep
  • Get too excited, by any lures
  • Think too much, save that for tomorrow
  • Sit around
  • All playing not studying

6. Things You Should Do in the Evening

  • Close all digital device, include laptops and cell phones at least 30 minutes ahead bedtime
  • And reading for 20 minutes
  • Take several deep breaths
  • Have entertainments early
  • Reflect
  • Plan for tomorrow

7. Reward System

Keep recording your time and feeling, if you do a great continuous routine job, reward yourself, if you feel more vigorous than before, reward yourself. By rewards, I mean anything you want except stay up late.

Answers To 5 Holiday Simplification Questions

I am a procrastinator, I planned to practice some new rituals this month, but 20 days later, I still get nothing developed. Since this year is going over, the deadline put me in a embarrassed status, I think I may just let go the rest days of this year and really commit to brand new beginning in next new year. Fortunately,  I happen to read a post about how to simplify our life even in the busies holiday, and there are 5 questions asked by Leo Babauta, the author of Zenhabits, contribute in a way as instructions to that simplification. I will answer those questions one by one.

1 – What are you striving for?

I think I am striving for a better life through cultivating powerful but little rituals few ones per month. And that’s fine, however, the most disturbing thing to me is the over concerning on time, date, deadline. I was strongly ruled by those virtual numbers and dates, if I didn’t do one thing that should be done in this week, I will feel terrible spontaneously no matter what. I know the truth is just let the failing past go and prepare and make actual actions in next coming days, but deeply in mind, I was reminded by myself repeatedly that I did not finished my due work.

The solution would be totally let go all those delusions and not be a bigot. I’ll work on meditation and try to clean my mind.

2 – What are you clinging to?

I am clinging to laziness and procrastination, especially in this such cold winter, I hardly move my hands out my warm pockets and type this post. I am slow man in all seasons, that is my number one problem I must admit and face.

The solution would be move my ass up, try to apply 2 minutes rule to curl my lazy butt.

3 – What can you limit yourself to?

I think this question is the nature of simplification to life, most of us can not deal too many things once a time, the multitasking is not suitable for me at least. So I must choose few most important things to put on my month ritual list. I always have the desire to finish all stuff quick and soon, but never work well, this time I will try to slow down, and really taste every bite of my food on a plate, enjoy the process of the way to final success, live in the moment.

4 – Who do you want to spend more time with?

In holiday, I think it is the best time to spend with my own beloved family, really enjoy the every good times we have in holiday, appreciate and be grateful to the company those years. And at other spare time, I should also hang out with several my best friends, thank goodness I only have three best friends, and I prefer to call them my kindred spirits. I am grad this question is easy for me to answer.

5 – What can you let go of?

Lately, I am thinking of letting go of all the stuff, I mean we are nakedly born to this world and will be pass away without taking anything. I have a scary and terrible past, every time when I wander under green trees with beams through them, I get the feelings of being refreshing, as if I can be brand new to this world again.

So nothing to say any more, feel a little better now,  start doing things.

I really wanna share this song again, this is the second time I do this on my blog.

Keep It, Ritual Night

Let’s assume tomorrow is my big day, I’ll have a wedding, two hundreds of people will show up and attend my wife and mine’s sacred ceremony. They are my honey and mine’s best friends, relatives, neighbors ,school classmates who are long time no see, and workmates and so on. At that time, all of the eyes will fixate at us, make me feel uncomfortable especially. I am not a socialized guy, I am not sure that I can handle this kind of situation. If this is something else that does have the same effect, I may have performance anxiety, and probably would prefer not to do it and leave finally. But it is my wedding, a big day in my life, I must go, I must on the altar.

So What should I do? In fact, the old me would be freak out, but now, after years of training and practicing of making me calm down internally, I am not afraid of any party like this, although I will still be uncomfortable in all social occasions.

What I have been consistently training are about two things, or I prefer to call them a lifestyle. One is keep doing things ritually, and another is meditation.

Yes, on that big night, I will continue to do things that I usually do in every night before. If I have new missions as a bridegroom, I finish them. And if I have nothing new to do, then I come back to my regular routine, do stuff I would like to do every night. The stuff I am now doing every night are catching up new TV shows, learning online courses about  academics etc, and go to bed early. Keeping a ritual day is very good for getting things done at a high efficiency and knowing what is your real purpose. When you make a ritual plan and clear about what you should do and not to do, you won’t waste your time and life.

Meditation is a really helpful tool or method to calm down one person’s mind both in short time and long run. After three deeply breathe, you would almost turn your anxiety and press into thin air. And once you stick on this mental practicing, you will see the big change of your mind and also your life. You will be enlightened and able to find a big world. And meditation is not a magic power or something like that, it’s just the nature and it is what it is.

Yes, that is exactly I am going to do on the eve of my wedding, believe it or not.
